Is Obama Trying to Shut Down the Internet?

October 28, 2009

A new bill that was proposed in April would give President Obama sweeping new powers over control of the nation’s networks and internet traffic. Some heralded it as a step in the right direction of negating or lessening the impact of potential cyber attacks.

This bill would essentially allow the American people to be fed information by government officials and would force large cable, phone and other companies to shut down their pipelines and close the information portals that allow for the free spread of information. Such a bill ostensibly is to protect networks from attack and banking, security and other systems from complete failure, but the secret to the bill is that it basically puts the information highway under the control of one man, a man who has shown he holds a grudge against those who bring up points against him, Barack Obama.

This bill, while not giving control under normal conditions, would allow the government to shut it down without warning. And then who would determine if there was a valid threat? But surely the government would be absolutely truthful when dealing with such issues right? I mean, it’s really got our best interests at heart, trust me.

We need to be vigilant in that this isn’t a type of pseudo-Fairness Doctrine Internet Edition. The free spread of information through blogs, alternative news sites and forums on the internet has opened up the news and allowed for false rumors propagated through liberally biased news organizations to be dispelled by studious bloggers. America, don’t let one man control the internet. If you do, it could be the end of unbiased media as we know it. More on the Fairness Doctrine Radio Edition in the weeks and months to come.

Obama’s Enemies List

October 21, 2009

Former Nixon aid Lamar Alexander (R. Tenn.) has warned Obama not to commit the same errors as disgraced ex-president Nixon in creating an enemies list. Alexander has stated that he is seeing signs that Obama is following the path of Nixon in creating a list of whom he disagrees with. He lists the following as first signs: a reported effort by the White House to marginalize the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a supposed effort by the Health and Human Services Department to put a “gag order” on the insurer Humana, the White House move to take on Fox News, Obama’s repeated criticisms of banks and investment houses, his alleged “taking names” of “bondholders who resisted the GM and Chrysler bailouts,” and the president’s move to make insurers the bogeyman of the health care debate.

I can tell you folks that Obama isn’t just making an enemies list, he already has one and Fox is at the top of the list. Obama has been trying to silence his critics for some time now and this list is just the aggregation of all the people Obama has a hit out for. I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama sent his purple shirted thugs from the SEIU to picket and protest Fox News. This has got to stop. A president should not be stooping to the level of attacking his enemies. Govern man! If you actually DO something than you won’t have to worry so much about critics. Bush governed and didn’t bother to attack MSNBC or CNN and he certainly had a better beef than you do. Suck it up and quit whining all the time. I swear this has got to be the most whiny, annoying administration of ALL TIME.

So, do anything to make the president angry and doggone it, you might just end up on his enemies list.

Gates: “Troop Decision Can’t Wait”, Obama Twiddles Thumbs

October 20, 2009

Defense Secretary Robert Gates stated that the administration cannot afford to, ‘sit on our hands’ on the decision over whether to send more troops to Afghanistan. However the White House and John Kerry believe that troop levels should be based on political stability. John Kerry (D, MA), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, bluntly said it would be “irresponsible” to commit more troops before the election is resolved. To some of the Democrats credit, many state that a stable Afghan government is critical but should not be the basis of military strategy. Republicans universally agree that more troops are needed, consistent with General McChrystal’s analysis.

This is another instance of Obama being either a wimp or an inconclusive, or worse yet, not caring about what his commanders say on the field. This goes to the instance of Obama attacking Fox while undecided about Afghanistan. Governing is tougher than it looks isn’t it Carter 2.0? When he was out campaigning, Obama attacked Iraq and those who got us into Iraq. He promised to fight the good fight and win the ‘right war’ in Afghanistan. He said he would send additional troops and listen to his commanders on the ground. Remember that Obama?

Political posturing is all this man knows. He doesn’t know how to govern other than through his force of personality which apparently the press and liberals can’t see through. Why do you think he’s always on campaign trails even after he’s been elected. His speeches still play to people’s emotions rather than the facts and he looks like he’s campaigning for re-election rather than trying to get something done. From his days with Acorn all the way up to voting present as senator more than anybody else, Obama knows nothing about decisions.

So while Afghanistan burns, our commander in chief twiddles his thumbs.

Obama Wastes Time Attacking Fox

October 18, 2009

The end really is here. Our president of the United States is wasting time attacking a reputable news organization while twiddling his thumbs on a WAR! While it takes weeks and months to determine the veracity of the reports on the ground out of Afghanistan, Obama and his cohorts can immediately take aim at Fox News and Glenn Beck for their ‘pushing a point of view’. Oh yeah… they really distort them facts don’t they?

And HOW DARE THEY even think of asking a tough question of His Highness, the One? How dare that conservative hate-monger Bill O’REILLY have a tough interview for Obama? And that Glenn Beck… hoo-boy… he’s something else isn’t he? Always hating on the One because of his color or some stupid little thing like… oh I don’t know.. communist ties.

Here’s the thing that drives the Obama administration crazy about Fox News. They actually report the facts with the liberal spin of MSNBC. The ‘news’ on the MSNBC channel is even tainted with the liberal bias of openly liberal and covertly leftist anchors such as Chris ‘thrill up the leg’ Matthews, Dylan Ratigan, Chuck Todd, Tamron Hall, David Shuster, Kelly O’Donnell and Andrea Mitchell. Fox has fair and balanced coverage where the anchors at least try and keep their political views to themselves while being fair to both the president and his opposition.

Says Anita Dunn (White House Communications Director): “What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party,” Dunn said on CNN. “They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news network the way CNN is.” CNN, the same ‘news’ channel that slams Rush Limbaugh, attributing racist remarks to him that they later admitted they couldn’t verify actually came from him at all. Right, right. Keep on drinking the kool-aid Anita. And here’s the thing: they probably do think that FOX is a wing of the Republican party because they have been listening to CNN and MSNBC for all these months, wallowing in the liberal spin for so long, fairness and tough questions seem straight out of the Republican playbook.

You know, if you want to attack a news organization, go right ahead. It’s your right. And FOX certainly can dispel your attacks with facts. But don’t sit in the White House acting like you’re the best thing since democracy when there are boys on the ground dying while you ponder what your next attack on Fox News will be. That is the epitome of idiocy and downright unpatriotic.

UAW Dreamin’

October 16, 2009

Yes my friends, today I received the See Here magazine for October. As I think I mentioned before somewhere (See Hall of Shame), my dad worked with the UAW and as a retiree he gets the magazine unless opting out. I’m glad he keeps the mag. for it gives me fresh ammo in my ongoing war with them. Now, to the misinformation and slander…

The President’s Report by the president of the local union starts out giving out the usual hullabaloo about how proud he is of Obama visiting the plant and how proud he is of the plant workers for treating Obama with respect and all that baloney. But what happens next is classic union, leftist work. He slobbers over how much an Obama signed Cobalt would go for on ebay. (I’d complain if I got it, but that’s just me.) After that comes the ra-ras for new CEO imposed by the Obama magistra… err, administration. Shortly thereafter he praises the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (You know? The one that has $3,000 signs springing up all over the country. Yeah that one) for having “cut taxes, provided emergency relief by extending unemployment benefits to laid off workers, and investing heavily in infrastructure improvements and new projects.” Doesn’t it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and want to hug Obama and never let him go??? Me neither! The fact is, the ‘new projects’ and ‘infrastructure improvements’ are actually re-paving roads that don’t need it and throwing up hundreds of signs in the most inopportune places. Yeah, don’t you just love it?

And then he goes overboard. He attacks the tea party protesters. But he does it subtly without a direct attack because he would probably find a few of them in his own plant. He calls them ‘tea-baggers’, a sexualized slur denoting despicable actions. If he would call them by their preferred name, I might not find it as offensive. (Mind you, the ‘teabaggers’ name was popularized by the likes of liberal talking head Keith Olbermann on MSNBC in the 9:00 PM EST time slot. Watch the vitriol for a few minutes, it’ll make you MAD, I guarantee it.)

After some more of the sickening rhetoric that makes you think you’re in the middle of a sappy love story, comes THIS doozy: “Most of all it is the understanding he brings to the table when talking about how we deserve better than the attitude that has prevailed from Washington to the boardrooms of big corporations. Attitudes that have rewarded wealth over work, selfishness over sacrifice, and greed over responsibility.” There’s a shot at those greedy, evil, rich, horrible monsters of capitalism. Uh-huh, uh-huh. And what about UAW President Ron Gettlefinger who reportedly makes over $150,000 a year. Is he not rich? Well of course not when you compare him to those evil CEOs making millions per year. Right? Well you see, the thing with that is, CEOs have to actually RUN the company. I say, sure maybe those CEOs would make good by refusing some of the money when people are suffering but it is their right to make money and I don’t begrudge them that. If I became CEO of some major company, I think I’d appreciate the big money myself. But I digress.

And then, just when we thought the president of the local union couldn’t outdo himself… he does. HE BASHES THE ENTIRE AMERICAN PUBLIC!!! “Then the economy imploded, right in front of the American people, who collectively seemed a caricature of the three monkeys (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil). This would be funny if it wasn’t so @#$% denigrating to the people that are buying the products off of GM and it’s lousy union.

Lastly, he mentions getting all the UNION people back to work. “We will not rest until ALL members of this union are back to work.” Wait, I thought the union was for getting Americans back to work? Well it seems it doesn’t matter who the union employs, as long as they’re union. Stay tuned for more union coverage AND more coverage about my ongoing war with the union.

UPDATE: On the UAW website:, Ron Gettelfinger states that affordable health care is a right not a privilege. Hey Ron, ever read the Constitution or Bill of Rights? Hint: It’s not in there. So as much as bleeding heart liberals want you to believe it, health care is a privilege for those that pay, not a right for everyone to obtain at the financial expense of others.
