Late Night Thoughts

September 4, 2010

Hola, my dear readers! Since there is a long holiday weekend coming up, I figured I had some time for some late night rambling on the current state of affairs in America. There’s a lot going on in the good ole USA so let’s get right down to it.

You think I’m going to mention Glenn Beck’s 8/28 rally first? WRONG! First comes the troops. This month marks the official end of U.S. combat presence in Iraq. While Obama has tried to take credit for this momentous occasion the only credit goes to our heroic men and women in uniform who have performed admirably in some of the most hazardous and extreme conditions on earth. The commanders have also been worthy of respect, leading the men and women under them with courage and dignity. God Bless our troops. Deserving less praise, but still more than Obama is President Bush. He heard from his commanders who were requesting more troops on the ground and went against the Democrats that held power in Congress prior to the surge. And he surged the troops, determined to win. Now three years later, the job has been done, the war has been won and the troops are leaving with honor, just as he has said. Well done Mr. President.

Now on to Glenn Beck. On August 28th Glenn Beck drew nearly half a million people to the mall in Washington D.C. for his ‘Restoring Honor’ rally. While liberal loons on the cesspool of networks out there decried the rally as a den of hatred and a pit of racism, the rally was an overwhelming success, and with independent cameramen and Fox News coverage, as well as UStream on Facebook, the REAL story got out. On Glenn’s radio show he asked callers to call in with testimonies of their experiences with the rally. An older black woman called in and talked about a white family that helped her navigate the crowds in her power scooter and stayed with her all day to make sure that she got wherever she wanted to be. (This family did not know her prior to meeting her getting on an elevator!) Another caller spoke of her husband losing his wallet with the last $20 that they had to their name. In the ruckus, a do-gooder overheard the problem and handed her and her husband a wad of cash, stating “Here take this, I don’t need it.” That wad of cash turned out to be $400! Sounds like a group of ‘old, white people that can’t stand the fact that there is a black man in the White House,” as TV host Fat Ed Schulz from MSNBC categorized them.

Now the elections are practically upon us. The Democratic Socialists of America better prepare jobs for themselves because soon many of them will be out of work. Serves them right; their policies have cost millions of Americans their jobs, now Americans are getting back. As part of this new conservative wave washing over the country, in Alaska another establishment Republican has been defeated by a Tea Party backed upstart. This could be huge come November. It’ll be an incumbent bloodbath. Repubs need to come up with a coherent and successful strategy for governing, because that mantle will fall on their shoulders and we cannot turn back into Democrat-lites and RINOs.

Last but not least, The Incomparable Ohio State manhandled overmatched Marshall 45-7 in the season opener. OSU looked like champions as Pryor and the offense scored more than in any game last year and the defense shut down Marshall with the exception of a blocked field goal attempt returned for a TD. OSU will try and replicate their successes against a resurgent Miami. OSU’s national championship hopes rely on them beating Miami and then winning out. GO BUCKS!

The Great Union Hypocrisy

June 7, 2010

My tirade and assault on the unions; nay their corrupt political arms, continues. With a recent piece of literature *cough propaganda cough* coming through my mail box today, I opened it to find a new wave of insults and derogatory remarks aimed at the tea party people. Now, to clear any confusion, I am not a member of a tea party group. However, I FULLY support their ideals and see them as trying to rightfully reclaim their country from a bureaucratic monstrosity and big government bent on spending us into oblivion. Anyway, this union assails to good people from the tea party with statements such as these: “Their paranoia and hatred for anything to do with President Obama have blinded them to the point of a sort of mass hysteria that I believe is a social phenomenon this country hasn’t seen since the days of McCarthyism.” Where do I start? First off, I haven’t seen a whole ton of ‘mass hysteria’ from the tea party. Nope, all I see is a bunch of flag waving and singing patriotic songs. Hmm… are those crazy people patriotic? Nope, jingoistic and nationalist. Shame on those filthy, backwards bomb throwers and rabble-rousers.

Secondly, I think that the anti-war loons from Vietnam through the Iraq war would more so qualify for ‘mass hysteria’, especially the ones that carried signs portraying Bush as Hitler or with a bullet through his forehead. Maybe the Watts or LA rioters. Still drawing blanks unnamed union official?

“The ugliness being stirred up in our Country by the tea baggers needs to stop. The rest of the world sees us as tea baggers and not the kind- hearted people that we are. Just before Tim McVeigh, the mood in the country was ugly as well. Wake up people!” This one I’m really getting sick of. The only ugliness that’s being stirred up is being opened by leftists like *unnamed union official* who constantly refer to tea partiers by a sexualized slur. The same people that are ‘kind- hearted people that we are’ are the ones defaming the tea partiers that have legitimate and substantial worries about the direction our country is heading in. And why is it that every time a conservative (or conservative group) raises hackles about something the left brings up Timothy McVeigh? We conservatives don’t bring up the Black Panthers or Bill Ayers. Also, do you really think grandma’s gonna whip out a Magnum .357 or Uzi from her purse and mow down a bunch of politicos? Maybe we should be concentrating on people like, oh I don’t know… Nidal Hassan or Abdul Malik Mohammed Hussein… heck with it, the boxer bomber? Not every time an atmosphere is ugly it ends in violence, nope, sometimes it ends in political hacks losing their jobs, like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are poised for.

“It seems the public is tiring of the anti-Obama rhetoric, but that doesn’t mean it will go away…” Before I continue with this whopper, I had to bring something up. ‘It won’t go away’? You mean like that health care bill from the devil? The one that 65%+ of Americans didn’t want yet was shoved down our throats? Yeah, he knows what he’s talking about. “…Certainly if the economy improves month by month, then the hypocrisy of the teabaggers will become more visible to the public because they’ll realize that the bottom line is that the majority of the teabaggers, for whatever reason, either strongly dislike or simply hate Barack Obama.” Uh-huh. If the economy improves month by month, yeah that’s a big ‘if’ dummy. Especially considering that out of the 400,000 jobs we added in April or May or whatever month it was, 90%+ of them were temp. Census jobs. ‘WOW! Honey, I was just hired to the Census bureau. Only problem… I’ll be out of work in 6 weeks.’ Yeah, economy’s really looking up. Uh-huh. Maybe the economy is not getting better because we didn’t spend enough money on it. Yeah, that’s it. We need to spend more money. So here’s the deal, we’ll spend $20,000,000,000,000 to bail EVERYBODY out and then there’ll be enough money to go around and companies will hire and world hunger will be eradicated etc. The only minor side effect? Our dollars will be worth, oh say… 1/10th of a Zimbabwean dollar. (If that doesn’t register, a hamburger in Zimbabwe costs 10 trillion Zimbabwean dollars. An egg costs 500 billion.) But darn them teabagging rednecks, they just hate Obama because ‘AAAAHHHH there’s a bleck mann in da whyite hause!!!!!’ Give me a break.

You see my fellow Americans, union leadership is corrupt as a rule. Members in unions are just like everyday Americans. They want their kids to be safe and to have a better life than they had. They want America to be free and prosperous. Most probably have conservative views. But the union leadership has become nothing but a political pawn, a shill, a sheeple for the Democratic Socialist party of America. They should not be taken seriously anymore.

Nuclear Arms and America

April 7, 2010

The United States has become significantly less safe under Barack Obama than we have ever been in the past. President Obama has now stated that the U.S., under his administration, will not use nuclear weapons in any case against a non-nuclear state. This basically means that even if we are attacked with a biological or chemical weapon, we will not nuke the agressor.

Naturally leftists are cheering the president for taking America down a notch. Yea, our European, more sophisticated and less backwoods *choke, gag, spit* ‘allies’ are glad that the only superpower is basically self-destructing under Obama. But countries like Japan, South Korea and Israel should be very worried. Even the American people should be worried. Our nuclear arsenal is the greatest deterrent the world has ever seen. At the height of the Cold War the Soviet Union had a larger military than we. If it weren’t for our advanced nuclear weapons we might have went to war. Today China, India, and others have larger militaries than we do. Yet we keep our status as superpower because of our power projection, world-wide influence and ability to neutralize potential foes via our large number of nukes. This is our greatest threat against China, whose military is modernizing and whose power projection is being increased.

So what does this mean Mr. President? Does that mean that if China invaded next month without using nukes on us, would we just sit back on our haunches with 20 million invading Chinese troops overrunning us? Would we seriously not drop the bomb on them if they attacked conventionally? Besides the threat of 200,000,000+ armed American citizens our nuclear payload is our safety against expansionist potential regional or super-powers. An emerging China, whom we depend upon for borrowing and cheap labor, is looking at eventually contending with the U.S. in regional power and has longer term goals of being to us soon what the USSR was yesteryear. China, however, doesn’t have our advanced nuclear arms and missile defense. This keeps them in check, for now. With Obama’s promise to not use nuclear arms, China has been green-lighted to speed their military upgrades and potential conflict with Taiwan. Do we really need a wet behind the ears president who doesn’t understand the complex diplomatic dance and international intrigue of the world stage deciding that we won’t use nukes?

This puts in question every American’s safety. Obama seems to think that his charm offensive is going to appease the Sino expansionism and lead to international peace whereby nuclear weapons become obsolete and every nation beats their swords into plowshares. Unfortunately, we live in reality, not some far off land where money grows on trees and dictators are talked out of their totalitarianism. This begs the question, will Obama come to his senses before a serious national security threat arises? Or has it already?

Now Is The Time…

March 22, 2010

Yes my friends, now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. This health care bill has passed. Now comes the time for legal action, civil disobedience and all other manners of opposition that we are legally entitled to as United States citizens. Now is the time for states to pass laws unbinding themselves from this burden that has been placed on their shoulders. Now is the time to call for the impeachment of Barack Obama for unconstitutional actions. Now is the time for citizens to refuse to adhere to an unconstitutional infringement upon their liberties. Now is the time for all good men to act.

Now is the time for Republicans and conservatives to restate their opposition to this bill and their commitment to having it repealed. Now is the time for Republicans to gear up to make sure that Barack Obama is a one term president. It is the time to ensure that Nancy Pelosi never again becomes the Speaker of the House, that once respectable house of the people that is now little more than an enclave of corruption, arm twisting and bribery, that once honorable institution that is now little more than a partisan playhouse wherein one party passes groundbreakingly bad legislation over the will of the people. Now is the time for all good men to act.

This bill will do nothing to address the problems with health care but will cause massive amounts of new problems. New government programs will allow for more red tape, less innovation, more taxes and worse care. This bill will provide federal funds for abortion despite Obama’s symbolic gesture of an executive order disallowing abortion funding. Stupak was duped and he screwed the American people with his vote. My prayer is that he will be replaced with a true pro-lifer. A conservative Republican. Now is the time for all good men to act.

Nothing we can say or do will remove the fact that socialist democrats have passed the most marxist, statist piece of legislation in the history of our proud Republic. But what we can say and do is repeal it before the damage is done. We must take this fight to the conservative Supreme Court and have it nullified by showing it’s true constitutional problems. This bill can be defeated even now, repealed, annulled, nullified. It can be and it should be. Let every Republican now raise his/her voice in support of taking this bill to the SCOTUS. It is the time for every Republican challenger and incumbent run on the repeal of this monstrosity. Now is the time for all good men to act.

I watched the whole spectacle yesterday. Starting at 1:30 in the afternoon I watched as Pelosi and co. were heckled by angry protesters all the way up to 11:45 P.M. after the final vote was cast. I watched as socialist dems cheered the demise of freedom in America. It was then that I swore in my wrath that I will do everything in my power to bring America back to where it was when I was a child. Where it should be according to the Constitution and our founding fathers. It is my time to do everything I can to support conservatives and Republicans like John Boehner, Michelle Bachmann and Mike Pence who resolutely fought this bill and continue to do so. Now is the time for all good men to act.

“Almighty God, Creator of all things, Upholder of the universe, we come before Thee today to ask that You not remove Thy gracious hand of blessing from our land. I ask that Thou put within the hearts of Americans a contrite spirit, that we might return to Thee and repent of our wicked ways. We ask that Thou protect our leaders, but that Thou might convict them and cause them to turn against this bill that dishonors You through the slaughter of the unborn. Please Lord we beseech Thee, save our land. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I pray, amen.”

Random Thoughts!

February 6, 2010

I’m gonna post my random thoughts on a day when snow has accumulated to two feet in some parts of the yard the electric is blinking under the strain of snow on the lines. Sitting here with the sun coming in the window and warming up after a forty-five minute romp in the snow makes me think. This is what real America is.

Real America isn’t the elitism shown by politicians that have flaunted their disregard for the will of the American people. America is parents and kids enjoying a sled ride down the local hill, a cup of hot cocoa enjoyed with a board game, a snowball fight with friends and family. Real America is enjoying God’s green (and white) earth without constant global warming chatter and anti-oil drilling blather. Real America is reveling in accomplishing something with your hands that the government didn’t hand to you. Shoveling the driveway or the steps. Government just doesn’t get it. Government thinks that everything you can do for yourself it can do for you better. Remember the old post office slogan ‘Nothing stops the post office’ or something like that? Yeah, not so much. Just like government that either can’t do anything in general or what they do, they screw up. So why would we want them running health care and determining how much CO2 can be in the air?

Snow makes the best chair. When there’s nigh unto 2 feet of the stuff, just falling backwards into it makes the perfect seat if it weren’t for the cold and wetness of it. I’ve sat on plenty of chairs, couches, cushions, ottomans, tables and every other piece of furniture meant for sitting and few things can compare to God’s gift of snow.

Cocoa is best served with marshmallows. Even when aspirating or swallowing them whole (which I don’t at all recommend) it makes one of the best drinks one can have after a cold day. Coffee is good (lots of creamer and sweetener), tea is good (but time consuming) but cocoa has them all beat. Nothing but hot water and a packet of cocoa’s needed and it can be gotten right out of the tap water.

Chess is a strategy game with a lot of luck involved. Now I don’t want anyone to think that I’m the next Gary Kasparov or Bobby Fisher, I play on my spare time. But through a casual game I notice that the best strategy is nothing if your opponent doesn’t take the bait. One wrong move and you can change from the hunter to the hunted. Much like Congressional seating.

We have become so dependent on the internet and computers that we must do everything in our power to ensure that our vital defense and infrastructure is protected and shielded from intruders who mean us much harm. Due to the snow, we had lost internet service for several hours (having a satellite based connection has its ups and downs). While we managed to survive, we missed several opportunities to find out important information on something as well as the ability to keep in touch with the outside world. Imagine if the entire infrastructure of the internet were to go down due to terrorist attacks or cyber-warfare from some unscrupulous nation-state. The destruction and damage to our national security would be widespread and we as a nation would slow to a crawl. However, in guarding our infrastructure, we need to ensure that we are also guarding against a growing government that would use such emergencies to deny us free speech and free transfer of knowledge. Government must ensure the security of our networks, from both the outside AND the inside.

So, as I look out the window and marvel at the sight, I am getting a tinge deep within me. It is the same tinge that comes every February. The want of spring. Yes the snow is beautiful, yes the furnace is warm. But by this time every year, myself and millions of others are eagerly anticipating the arrival of spring. Warm breezes, open windows, flowers and going barefoot. Soon it will be here. But for now, Happy Winter to all, and may this year bring a continued revival of the principles that make America the greatest nation on earth. God Bless.

The Kneeler in Chief

November 17, 2009

It seems that our president has a serious problem with keeping his back straight when meeting with other dignitaries. capt.photo_1258388640408-1-0

Yes, our president has bowed to the Japanese emperor Akihito. It is customary for leaders to exchange warm handshakes, yet Obama took it a step farther. He bowed to the emperor. Bowing at the same height as the opposing dignitary symbolizes mutual respect and friendship. Bowing lower indicates submission.

Remember Saudi Arabia? Here’s this gem of a picture:

The funny thing is, if Obama would bow to the American people’s wishes, than he would be just fine. But instead he chooses to bow to the Saudis and Japanese emperor Akihito. Who’s protecting who? This is the man that is supposed to have his finger on the nuclear button in case of an emergency? The troubling truth is, Obama is not just committing a faux pas. He is knocking America down to size, purposefully. He has stated in his multiple apology tours that he doesn’t think there is any such thing as American exceptionalism. He has stated that we’re all in this together and America needs to be led by other countries as much as we need to lead. Hence his willingness to hand over sovereignty based on some environmental whim such as global warming. (Oh I’m sorry, it’s climate change now. But only because it has been proven that we are in a cooling period rather than a warming one. Ouch, truth hurts doesn’t it Al Gore?)

But back to my point. Another funny thing is ‘Barak’ in Hebrew actually means ‘kneel’. Maybe Barack is Hebrew. Maybe his name is fitting. There is only one letter missing after all.

This isn’t about bowing. Bowing is perfectly acceptable when done to show mutual respect and admiration. The emperor had it right, a slight bow indicates respect but not submission. Karate classes teach it all the time. Students bow deeper than the sensei because they are his pupils and owe him more respect, students bow to the same height as each other because they are equals and are showing mutual respect and honor. Obama evidently sees Akihito, Abdullah and anyone else he kneels to as his sensei and he is the pupil. If he were just any other politician I wouldn’t mind so much. But he is supposed to uphold American respect and honor around the world. Apparently he doesn’t think we are as deserving respect as Japan, Saudi Arabia etc. are.

Tragedy in Fort Hood

November 5, 2009

A terrible tragedy is unfolding today after a soldier opened fire on his fellow soldiers in Fort Hood, Texas.

The shooting began at around 1:30 P.M. EST when shots were fired at the base’s Soldier Readiness Center where soldiers are about to be deployed or who are returning undergo medical screening.

The soldier was identified as Major Nidal Malik Hassan who was a military psychiatrist . Officials do not know whether this was his birth name or if it was changed due to a conversion to Islam. His religion is not known.

The 39 year old resisted the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and was hoping that Obama would pull troops out. He allegedly got into frequent arguments with other soldiers who supported the wars and had tried hard to prevent his pending deployment.

Spc. Jerry Richard states that soldiers don’t carry weapons with them unless in the middle of training exercises, which explains the lack of preparedness for such an attack. As such, it was the civilian police force that shot and killed the shooter only after 11 others were killed and 31+ wounded.

This is a tragedy of a tremendous scale. Soldiers should not have to worry about their own safety on American soil. When they return home from Iraq, Afghanistan or any other foreign country they shouldn’t worry about being attacked.

I won’t use this opportunity to politicize or bloviate. Please pray for the victim’s families, the military, and everyone involved.
