The man has spoken! Food stamps are stimulus! It seems that food stamps do a better job of stimulating the economy than jobs do, evidently. Because although there has been a vast increase of people on them, the jobs are less and less plentiful. Hmm… maybe foodstamps are helpful. I mean hungry people got to eat right? And when people eat, they spend money right? Well the thing is, it is government sending money to people, to get them to buy stuff. Only, unlike Stimulus 1.0, this is long term government spending.

One problem with this plan, government can’t continue to spend more and more money, sending essentially free money to people who aren’t working, or are working less, and taking that money from people who are working. Many of whom are not working anymore since Obama and his henchmen are making it much less business friendly within this country.

Again, my brain is scrambled, because the news is on and is turned way up, but I guarantee that my quality articles will become higher quality once I work out a better schedule. Stay informed.

You see, the new debt ceiling bill has raised some hackles on both sides of the aisle. I agree with Rep. Cleaver that this bill is a ‘sugar coated Satan sandwich.’ Only thing is, we have two totally different reasons. First and foremost there is little in the way of guaranteeing spending cuts. In other words, we gave Barack Hussein Obama (his highness) his two+ trillion dollars in debt ceiling raise but without significant cuts to spending, without a balanced budget amendment, without any guarantee of no new taxes in the future. The Republicans have been hoodwinked again.

In other, entirely related news: the DOW has dropped over 500 points in one day. Barack Hussein Obama is a boy that was sent to do a man’s job. Barack Obama is as Eric Cantor pointed out, in over his head. He has never created a single job, he has never had to deal with a budget. While he was smokin’ dope in college on taxpayer money, real economists were learning that spending more than you take in is a recipe for disaster and that countries need to keep a low debt to GDP ratio for the long term health of their economies. Barack never learned this. So while he is bashing ‘millionaires, billionaires and corporate jet owners’, he’s also soliciting funds from them for his reelection.

In closing of this erratic and somewhat discombobulated post, does anyone else notice that whenever something went wrong under Bush, it was always his fault, but now that Obama is at the helm it’s not his? It is always either A. Bush’s fault or B. ‘Circumstances we can’t control’? Goodnight America.

You think I’m going to mention Glenn Beck’s 8/28 rally first? WRONG! First comes the troops. This month marks the official end of U.S. combat presence in Iraq. While Obama has tried to take credit for this momentous occasion the only credit goes to our heroic men and women in uniform who have performed admirably in some of the most hazardous and extreme conditions on earth. The commanders have also been worthy of respect, leading the men and women under them with courage and dignity. God Bless our troops. Deserving less praise, but still more than Obama is President Bush. He heard from his commanders who were requesting more troops on the ground and went against the Democrats that held power in Congress prior to the surge. And he surged the troops, determined to win. Now three years later, the job has been done, the war has been won and the troops are leaving with honor, just as he has said. Well done Mr. President.

Now on to Glenn Beck. On August 28th Glenn Beck drew nearly half a million people to the mall in Washington D.C. for his ‘Restoring Honor’ rally. While liberal loons on the cesspool of networks out there decried the rally as a den of hatred and a pit of racism, the rally was an overwhelming success, and with independent cameramen and Fox News coverage, as well as UStream on Facebook, the REAL story got out. On Glenn’s radio show he asked callers to call in with testimonies of their experiences with the rally. An older black woman called in and talked about a white family that helped her navigate the crowds in her power scooter and stayed with her all day to make sure that she got wherever she wanted to be. (This family did not know her prior to meeting her getting on an elevator!) Another caller spoke of her husband losing his wallet with the last $20 that they had to their name. In the ruckus, a do-gooder overheard the problem and handed her and her husband a wad of cash, stating “Here take this, I don’t need it.” That wad of cash turned out to be $400! Sounds like a group of ‘old, white people that can’t stand the fact that there is a black man in the White House,” as TV host Fat Ed Schulz from MSNBC categorized them.

Now the elections are practically upon us. The Democratic Socialists of America better prepare jobs for themselves because soon many of them will be out of work. Serves them right; their policies have cost millions of Americans their jobs, now Americans are getting back. As part of this new conservative wave washing over the country, in Alaska another establishment Republican has been defeated by a Tea Party backed upstart. This could be huge come November. It’ll be an incumbent bloodbath. Repubs need to come up with a coherent and successful strategy for governing, because that mantle will fall on their shoulders and we cannot turn back into Democrat-lites and RINOs.

Last but not least, The Incomparable Ohio State manhandled overmatched Marshall 45-7 in the season opener. OSU looked like champions as Pryor and the offense scored more than in any game last year and the defense shut down Marshall with the exception of a blocked field goal attempt returned for a TD. OSU will try and replicate their successes against a resurgent Miami. OSU’s national championship hopes rely on them beating Miami and then winning out. GO BUCKS!

Being gone from 6:15 in the morning until 4:15 in the afternoon I don’t have much time for this blog anymore, for which I apologize. I will see how it goes when I get more used to the hours. But even if I don’t post any more posts (which is unlikely) remember that An Informed Mind will always fight against big government, mainstream media, Islamofascism, etc. God Bless America!

PS: With the elections coming up, we need to remember how the Democratic Socialists of America treated the will of the people they were elected to serve, especially over health care. Stay strong Conservatives and Tea Party Patriots. We can reclaim this country for what the Founders intended. Let’s ‘THROW THE BUMS OUT’!

No more. His rep is forever tarnished by what he has done in the past couple weeks alone. Black Panther-gate, suing Arizona over ‘racial discrimination’ in HB1070 (which doesn’t exist mind you) and who can forget that “the Cambridge police acted stupidly.” It seems that the entire Congress now defers to minorities rather than the rule of law.The New Black Panthers were unarguably harassing white voters in an attempt to drive them away from the polls. A whistleblower (J. Christian Adams) at the Justice Department has confirmed that the department had a slam-dunk case against the NBPP yet it was dropped because under AG Holder the department is opposed to trying cases of discrimination against white victims. Now the organization fighting obscurity and utter disrepute, the NAACP is now claiming that the Tea Party is a racist organization and that it is the spiritual descendant of the White Citizens Council. My question? Why won’t the NAACP come out and condemn the NBPP or more specifically Minister King Samir Shabazz of ‘I hate white people’ fame. In case you haven’t heard it, let me quote it to you exactly: “I hate white people. Every last iota of a cracker, I hate him… If you want freedom, you gonna have to kill some crackers. You gonna have to kill some of they babies.”

Sounds real warm and huggable doesn’t he? That is the same man that was standing outside a Philadelphia polling station on election day 2008 with a nightstick. Regardless of color, there are racists among us. Blacks can hate whites as easily as whites can hate blacks. Asians can hate Hispanics and Europeans can hate Australians. The point is, we are never going to get past racism. NEVER! The human condition is unable to be removed from us as it is ingrained with sin. Some hearts will never change, and you can’t legislate morality. Government cannot change a heart, only God can through the blood of Jesus Christ. King Samir Shabazz needs Christ. And not his faux Christ of black liberation theology. For God doesn’t look on appearances, but on the heart.

I love people regardless of their color. But some people won’t do that. Some people hate others based on their color. And ones like Shabazz (both Samir and Zulu) are racist as well. Nothing can be done to heal old wounds when the former victims are turning into the oppressors. But here’s the thing. Race hustlers like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson and outright racists like King Samir Shabazz and Malik Zulu Shabazz were never subject to the same treatment that MLK or others were treated. They were never enslaved like in the 1800s. I still contend that if we go far enough back, every group on earth has been enslaved or mistreated by someone of the opposite race.

So in closing, if Obama were to truly want to be post-racial, he would look at the facts rather than the skin-tone and drop his radical agenda. Decrying Arizona’s largely white police and legislature (who are trying to enforce border policy) and sticking up for illegal immigrants who happen to be largely Hispanic (and crossing ILLEGALLY) is an example of radicalism. Justice is supposed to be blind, blind to color, blind to economic status, blind to gender. The eyes of justice are only supposed to behold facts, perhaps the President should take the same approach.

The fourth of July means spending time thinking of those soldiers on far off battlefields that are being shot at. It means thanking God that there are many braver and more willing than I to leave family, friends and security of everyday life to water the tree of liberty. That there are those who, instead of pursuing a lucrative career in business, instead don the uniform of a grunt, a devil-dog, a sea-bee or a fly-boy and ensure the blessings of liberty to us and our posterity. They heeded the call of duty and answered, some to return, others to fall.

This day brings to mind the words of the song: “All gave some, some gave all. Some stood true for the red, white and blue, and some had to fall… If you ever think of me, think of all your liberties and recall, some gave all.” Truer words were never spoken. As some have noted, “It was not the poet who gave us freedom of speech, nor was it the reporter who gave us freedom of press, nor was it the reverend who gave us freedom of religion, but the soldier.” We can thank the soldiers who have given of themselves, sometimes paying with their lives to ensure that their sons and daughters would grow up in a country free from tyranny and oppression. From Bunker Hill and Lexington, to Philadelphia, to the beaches of Virginia and the hills of Appalachia, to the distant shores of Tripoli and the Mexican wilderness, to the beaches of Normandy and the Islands of the Pacific, to Inchon in Korea, to the rice paddies of Vietnam, to the island of Panama, to the sands of the Middle East and Afghanistan, to wherever next they be, we salute our boys and girls in uniform and thank them with the utmost degree of respect and adoration. We know that they are not perfect and have fear and apprehension of their situations, but we know also that they push on, showing their patriotism by their deeds and not simply their words. May God Bless our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines on this fourth of July and give them strength, courage, and wisdom and may they come home safe and soon. God Bless America.

Even though the federal judge has overturned the ban, the administration is planning on appealing the ban and Ken Salazar (the one in charge of the situation) has already leveled another ban, trying to get that one through the judicial system. Do you see what is going on America? Our own president and his crack-pot team of politicos and aparatchiks are trying to ruin the oil industry and put thousands more people out of work. What could possibly be a good reason for doing this? There is none, except that Obama wants to increase his power and control over people’s lives. We are heading for despotism folks.

He has also announced plans for a new round of ‘stimulus’ involving billions if not trillions more wasted taxpayer money. He is pushing comprehensive immigration reform AKA amnesty. He wants to push card-check allowing forcible unionization. America, our president is a radical, un-American who is trying to ruin our country. We need to deal a severe blow to him and his democratic socialists of America come this November when the Tea Party Express will be handing many dems a pink slip. Keep up the good fight friends, America will stand so long as we continue to fight for limited government and personal freedom.

Chipmunks are ordinarily cute, fuzzy little beings that have nothing better to do than dash around and look cute while small children think of the lovable denizens of Disney lore, Chip and Dale. They can be funny creatures as they chase each other and frolic all the day long. And then comes growing season. And then they turn into malevolent little monsters with only one goal: to destroy, eat, and otherwise ruin your garden. They race back and forth stealing strawberries, tearing up plants etc. So, what does one do? Trap them?

A mouse trap does not work. We’ve tried. The beasts’ necks are so strong they bust the spring on the trap. (Well not really, but I’ve never caught one in them.) Rat traps don’t work. The beings are so fast they grab the bait, dance on the trigger and dart off before the large and bruising piece of metal comes down.

Shoot them? You can’t do it. A BB gun would surely kill them if it hit them. I think I might have knocked off a couple, but if you’re farther away than 5-10 yards good luck. The sound of the air blast alerts them and they zoom off, chittering as they go. Maybe a shotgun blast of birdshot might take out one, as well as three quarters of the yard. A rifle might work but the danger of a bullet ricocheting off the ground and hitting someone is a risk I’m not willing to take for strawberries. Maybe land mines?

But there is a bigger issue here. It is life. Sometimes we have to put up with things that annoy us, simply because doing something, anything is not always the best course. Sometimes we need to think out what we are going to do and do what we are going to do in a measured, controlled response. It also shows that certain things are not rights. We don’t have the right to have a taxpayer subsidized exterminator come out because of our strawberries. It is our own issue and we should deal with it as we see fit, so long as we don’t endanger other lives. Government cannot do for us, we must do for ourselves through individual initiative. It really also makes me realize just how incapable and awe-inspiringly stupid some government ideas are. Like that government knows better what Americans need and shouldn’t own, rather than we do. Why should bureaucrats tell us that we better buy health care, we shouldn’t buy that firearm etc. when they’ve never worked in the health industry and many of them haven’t ever fired a gun? Americans need to vote out the big government socialists and let our ballots do the talking. I think that’s something that even the chipmunks can rally behind.
